Emerson Fernandez

QUALIFICATIONS: BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy MCSP SRP, PGCert MSK Sonography, Independent Prescriber

Emerson has been working as a musculoskeletal sports physiotherapist since completing his BSc (Hons) in 2005, specialising in sports and fitness injuries.

He completed his post-graduate qualifications in injection therapy in 2015 and has also an experienced musculoskeletal sonographer, allowing Emerson to be included in the small number of Physiotherapists able to offer ultrasound guided injections.

In addition, Emerson completed his Masters level study of Independent Prescribing in 2020 and is now able to consult, prescribe, and advise on medications.

Emerson now combines an extended scope specialist  NHS role which includes diagnostic ultrasound,  corticosteroid injections therapy, supervision of MSK sonography students, and the management of complex cases with a private practice at Complete Physio.

Emerson has worked in GP practices, gyms, and accident & emergency privately with athletes (footballers, rugby players, cross-fitters, cyclists, runners, weight lifters), gymnasts, yoga practitioners, and dancers.

The combination of over fifteen years of practice as a Physiotherapist and being able to offer ultrasound guided injections for the management of pain in a ‘one-stop shop’ clinic approach put Emerson in an excellent position to help clients recover from injury, manage long term conditions and return them to full function.
