David is one of the clinical directors at Complete Physio. He has over 25 years’ experience working as a physiotherapist, specialising in musculoskeletal medicine, and complements his clinical expertise with diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasonography and ultrasound-guided injections. He is also an Independent Prescriber.
He completed a first degree in Sport and Exercise Science in 1994 and subsequently qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1999. These two qualifications have complemented each other in his treatment of a wide range of patients from the sedentary to the high-level athlete. He has fulfilled senior roles both in a major London teaching hospital and the private sector working extensively with patients suffering from neuromusculoskeletal conditions including sports injuries, work-related disorders, problems related to inactivity, and chronic pain. He has worked alongside orthopaedic surgeons, rheumatologists, spinal and neurosurgeons throughout his career and uses this network appropriately to optimise patient care.
His many years of experience in clinical assessment and treatment using physiotherapeutic modalities such as joint and soft tissue mobilisations, manipulation, acupuncture, and sport and exercise rehabilitation combined with diagnostic ultrasound allows more accurate diagnosis and monitoring of injuries.
He is a lifelong sportsman and exerciser, and despite his advancing years continues to participate in competitive team sport and running. This has provided him with very significant, first-hand experience of managing the ageing athlete!
David also works one day a week in an NHS orthopaedic triage clinic where he works as an Advanced Physiotherapist assessing and managing often very complex cases, using his clinical expertise, together with diagnostic imaging and ultrasound-guided injections.
